Want a card that you can use on a daily basis? Well there are plenty to choose from to be honest, so you need to think about what specifically you are going to be doing. Here are some examples that we can think of:
|
Monthly fees?? Who wants monthly fees?
Everybody hates the idea of a monthly fee and being tied into a contract. However, sometimes this is the best option, and much easier to get out of with prepay cards. Simple example with some sums first. Let's say we have a pay as you go card (PAYG) that charges you a £1 every time you use it, and a monthly fee card that charges you £5 a month. You just need to use your PAYG card 5 times before it gets expensive.

- Shopping - here, there and everywhere.
If you simply want to use a prepay card as you use a Maestro or Visa Debit card, then you need one that is designed for that purpose. You need to avoid the pay as you go options, as they charge you everytime you use it, and look at the monthly fee options.
Also, with prepay cards you aren't really tied in to anything. If you get fed up with your card, empty your account of funds and stop using it. Easy!
